Pahrump, NV Sunrise Elopement
I can’t tell you just how cold Pahrump, NV is at 6am in the morning. I mean, it is cold COLD. However, it sure is worth that sunrise that touches just above the peaks and valleys. For instance, the colors are blue and pink and purple. I may have edited these photos to show them at their best, but I didn’t need to enhance those hues. God’s beautiful hand has definitely touched Pahrump, NV. It’s also worth mentioning that I had never worked with smoke bombs in a photoshoot before. What a trip! We already had those gorgeous natural colors from the sun and sky and topped it off with neon yellow?! Um, yes please!
This was such an amazing experience. I had never been to a workshop before and boy was it an adventure! First of all, being stuck in the same room as a bunch of other people can feel a little claustrophobic. Lucky for me, I loved every single one of them. I couldn’t be more blessed to have met so many lovely fellow photographers! We drove and drove for hours back and forth between Pahrump, NV and Death Valley, CA to get each and every shot you will see on this website. This was the ultimate adventure and everything I had hoped for. This experience allowed me to spread my wings and get out of my comfort zone.
As a photographer, I feel so much more confident because of this trip. I was faced with the elements. The harsh, direct sunlight taught me how to properly expose. The freezing cold mornings made it difficult to move my fingers. The long drives provided reflection on my dreams and goals. So there you have it. Pahrump, NV ended up being my absolute favorite shoot of the whole workshop.
